Early in 2001 I contacted Annette Tasker of the Goytre Kennel and asked if she was having a litter in the near future as I was looking for a Border Collie that would not only look good but would also work well. I intended to return to working Trials and Obedience and my daughter Vicky wanted to have a go at showing. I booked a puppy from her next litter and said I wanted a black and white dog. I had a long wait but on 11^th November 2001 my puppy was born. So much for a black and white, I was told that pick of litter was red and white and that was the one I should have. On the 31^st December a red and white ball of fluff came to Essex from Yorkshire.

Wizard is a family pet who loves to curl up on the sofa for a cuddle. He has a wonderful temperament which he is passing on to his many offspring. Underneath the big red and white coat Wizard is a very fit and athletic Border Collie who will work all day.

Wizard started his competitive life at a championship breed show at Bath where he won best puppy in breed (judge Terry Thorne) and only 2 mths later repeated his best puppy as well as winning his first Reserve Challenge Certificate (judge Roy Baker). After this his working life was put on to the back burner. Wizard has won classes throughout his show career including being awarded his Junior Warrant, (for his wins up to the age of 18mths) and his Show Certificate of Merit for winning many best of breeds and group placings at open shows during 2005. At Championship Show level Wizard has now gained his title of Show Champion by winning 3 Challenge Certificates as well as 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates. By gaining his Show Champion Title Wizard has made Breed history as the first ever male UK red and white Champion.

Wizard competed and was placed at agility shows during 2005 but due to his breed show competitions there was no time for training or competing until now. Wizard will be is the show ring from time to time mainly entering in Champion Stakes classes to make sure the all round judges are aware that Border Collies Champions don't just come in Black and White !!

Wizard and Vicky are having a summer of training and competing in agility and they are both thoroughly enjoying their time. Neither of them have forgotten very much but they are concentrating on their accuracy whilst having fun.

Wizard has now sired over 100 puppies. He is producing high drive offspring with an off switch making wonderful confident pets and working dogs, with the beauty and conformation required for the show ring.

His offspring are competing in the breed ring, agility, flyball and obedience, as well as making excellent intelligent family pets. We are proud of them all.
