Charley and Puppies

Litter pedigree

Charley gave birth to 6 beautifully marked healthy pups in the early hours of 3rd November 2010 consisting of 1 boy and 5 girls. Three red and whites and 3 black and whites.

This time we had red and white puppies for the first time and the other first was that mum and dad of the litter were bred by us.

Charley had large pups just like her mother weighing between 13oz and 16oz. Charley absolutely adored her pups and spent as much time as possible in the pen feeding and cleaning them. She decided from the 2nd day they could cope without her whilst she walked with the rest of the pack, but raced in on her return.

When Charley's pups were only 10 days old were heard that someone was looking for a surrogate mother for a 6 day old pup whose mum had tragically died. Charley stepped in and took on Blake as no 7 in her litter no questions asked bless her. Blake stayed with his new brother and sisters till he was 7 weeks when he went home with Lesley Bristow who bred him.

Charley proved to be a devoted mother and rarely left her pups right up to the day they left. We were concerned she would suffer depression when they all went but fortunately she took it all in her stride.

As the pups were 8 weeks at Christmas we held onto them for a few extra days so Christmas was fun for us and the pups were in an environment they were used to. They all went to their new homes after the festivities
